☕️ Read: The World Atlas of Coffee by James Hoffmann
We love a good book, just like a good cup of joe - this book gives you both! In Hoffmann’s book, he spills the beans with his beautifully illustrated and highly informative coffee guide by taking readers on a global tour of 29 coffee-growing regions.
📸 Coffee Shops Around the World
📍Tumon, Guam - Cafe Gudcha
Of course, we start off with home. Cafe Gudcha is one of the few artisan coffee shops serving organic, fair-trade coffee and teas; their menu also has plant-based options and locally sourced ingredients. From second-hand books on a communal dining table to a hammock swing, this is where creativity meets minimalism. The added bonus is their adorable rescue dog named Potato 🥔.
📍Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia - Sea Circus
The vibrant and whimsical cafe in Bali is truly a sweet delight! Get transported to a circus and sip a coconut latte while enjoying some fairy floss pancakes, dirty waffles, and eggs benedict.
📍Kaka’ako, Oahu, Hawaii - ARVO
During ancient times, salt was just as valuable as gold, and the region of Kaka’ako consisted of fishing communities and salt ponds. Today, SALT thrives as a commercial and industrial area located in the heart of Honolulu and home to this adorable cafe. Lavender latte and Nutella toast, anyone?
📍Seoul, Korea - Denim Cafe
Formerly called the Denim House, the Denim Cafe was created as a place where people can sit and enjoy their coffee while they wait for their jeans alternations. The adorable cafe also repurposes their jeans into cute coasters!
🥣 Recipe: Filipino Champorado with a Twist
My early childhood mornings consisted of waking up to a strong aroma of coffee that my dad would conjure up with his instant Folger’s coffee. I would roll out of bed and sit at our dining table, where he had already laid out a plate of white rice. He always offered to let me pour the coffee onto the rice, but I enjoyed watching him do it. This was my daily breakfast.
Here’s a twist on the traditional Filipino Champorado, incorporating instant coffee for an added kick as an ode to my childhood.
